Auditions and Scholarships

Scholarships are available for Theatre Majors.

High school seniors and transfer students who would like to major in music, art or theater or perform in the choir, band, marching band, orchestra or jazz band can schedule an audition or portfolio review and campus visit during Arts Scholarship Days @ Siena. Scholarships will be awarded to qualifying students. In addition to their audition or portfolio review, students may have the opportunity to meet with current scholarship recipients over lunch, have an individual meeting with Admissions Counselor and enjoy a campus tour.

Pre-registration is required. Prospective students must be accepted to Siena Heights University for the 2019-2020 academic year before performing an audition.

2018-2019 Audition Dates:

Please plan to be on campus from 10 am to 1 pm.  An optional campus tour will be given 1-2 p.m.

Audition Preparation

All students should provide a brief resume of previous theatre involvement. This should include productions you've participated in & when as well as the organization responsible for the production and a description of your role/responsibilities. 

Traditional Theatre: Two prepared monologues

Musical Theatre: Two prepared pieces
May be sung with or without accompaniment. 
To have accompaniment provided, pieces must be confirmed no later than 1 week prior to audition. 

Theatre Tech: A portfolio of your work (if additional examples are available to support your resume). 

 

Also, compete in one of our Scholarship Competition Days to receive academic scholarships.
Scholarship Competition Requirements:

First-time freshmen who apply, are accepted to Siena Heights University and who have a 3.5 cumulative high school GPA or higher are eligible to compete during SHU's Academic Scholarship Competition Days. Here are the 2018-19 competition dates:
