The SHU Department of Music invites the Siena community to the concert band's first spring concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in Francoeur Theater. The concert, titled, "Something Old, Something New," will feature the following repertoire: Bandology by Eric Osterling; Sure on this Shining Night by Samuel Barber, Rollo Takes a Walk by David Maslanka; The Machine Awakes by Steven Bryant; and First Suite in Ebby Gustav Holst. The concert will perform one of the first masterworks for band along with a relatively new piece that features electronic music played simultaneously with the band on stage. Admission is free, but all are encouraged to bring non-perishable canned goods for local food pantries sponsored by the SHU NAfME chapter.
