Mad Mohre's IN/EXPLICABLE SITU (In & Out of Place) is now open in the gallery! Stop in to listen and look!

Mad Mohre's solo exhibition, IN/EXPLICABLE SITU, is collection of new site-specific works exploring the artist's recent relocation from Brooklyn, NY to Adrian, MI. Tracing power lines through the sky, the rhythmic passing of their towers, and the faint smell of cheap rearview mirror air fresheners ferried Ms. Mohre from the east coast to the midwest last August. In Klemm we enter her new home, marked by impeccable design and the act of printmaking; the catalysts for her move and the unifying media of the exhibition. IN/EXPLICABLE SITU opens in Klemm gallery January 12, and will be on view through February 10, 2015.

Mad Mohre is a Michigan-based artist/designer by night and an instructor by day. Her process of making has been heavily influenced by ideas of play and various relationships between craft, the use of the miniature, sound, sci-fi, humor and installation. By addressing complicated subject matter through these devices, she more easily facilitates discussion. Stylistically, she is a Bauhaus junkie.

She is also Assistant Professor of Art at Siena Heights, teaching printmaking and foundations.
