Below is a list of our Music Department's upcoming concerts:

  • The SHU concert band, jazz band and chamber ensembles will conduct a winter concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4 in Francoeur Theater.
  • The SHU choir will present the concert "Lessons and Carols," at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 in St. Dominic Chapel.
  • "Tis the Season," a musical choir concert, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 in Holy Rosary Chapel on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. Listen to an afternoon of entertaining holiday pieces.
  • The SHU Youth Symphony will present a concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 in Francoeur Theater. The orchestra, under the direction of conductor Linda Deatrick, is composed of music students from Lenawee, Hillsdale and Jackson counties. The program will include works of Saint-Seans, Dvorak and Rimsky-Korsakov.     A collaborative Christmas concert featuring SHU staff member Al Ballenberger and music faculty emeritus Susan Matych-Hager will be at 8 p.m. Dec. 10 in Holy Rosary Chapel on the Adrian Dominican Sisters campus. The Carillon Women's Chorale, Chiaroscuro Men's Ensemble and the Adrian Chamber Brass will join forces for the concert. The concert will include works performed by each of the individual choirs and the brass ensemble followed by the three combined groups and organ performing Christmas Cantata (Sinfonia Sacrae) by American composer Daniel Pinkham. The Siena community is invited to attend. A freewill offering will be taken. Matych-Hager is the director of Chiaroscuro, a newly formed community men's ensemble. Chiaroscuro is still looking for new members. The group rehearses at 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday in room 115 of the Performing Arts Center. 

All concerts are free and open to the Siena community.
