SHU's Music Department will conduct its annual Choirs Spring Concert at 5 p.m. April 24 in Holy Rosary Chapel on the campus of the Adrian Dominican Sisters. The concert will feature SHU's University Chorale and Chamber Singers, as well as Linda Pratt on piano and Kerwin Leader on organ. The music will feature Missa Brevis in B-flat (Little Organ Mass) by Haydn. "Haydn's Mass in B-flat is a wonderful example of the beauty and majesty of choral music in the Classical period, and especially the Viennese composers' influence on sacred music of the time," said SHU Director of Choirs and Assistant Professor of Music Kelly Ford. Additional music from composers such as Thomas Tallis, Z. Randall Stroope, Sam Pottle and Gustav Holst will also be performed. Admission is free, however, dry and canned goods will be collected by SHU's National Association for Music Education Student Chapter to donate to the Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry.
